This is Where We Are

Blake Niemann graduated from Arizona State University and he landed his first job in TV news.

Now, it used to be, people like Niemann might land that first job in Topeka, Yuma, or maybe Redding.

But, he went landed a job just a whisker outside of the top 10 TV markets. Niemann has landed his first job at Fox-owned KSAZ in Phoenix.

Other than the obvious, there are a few issues here. It’s a good bet that Niemann was given a lowball offer, due to his lack of any experience. That will make it harder for others trying to break into these size markets, when it comes to receiving their true value.

Sure, it seems like a great move for a young grad, but it can snowball all kinds of issues.
