This is Scripps....

Struggling Scripps’ station WFTX (Ft. Myers) was handed a gift. The ratings challenged station would carry to Super Bowl, which would lead into their late news.

It is the opportunity stations dream about, in which they get large viewer sampling.

But, WFTX could not capitalize.

When the newscast kicked off after the Super Bowl, it was a blank screen with just audio for several minutes, until they finally figure it out.

I wonder if all those Scripps’ cuts played into this?
