I have never been the kind of person that likes to go to the gym.
I don't like spending the money for a membership and I don't like working out around other people. It seems like when you workout at a health club it's more like being in a bar.
I was a member at one health club and I remember I would see the same guy everyday when I went there. He would be there for hours and not once did I ever see him do a single exercise. He would just walk around and try and hit on the women in the club.
I figured out that the money I would spend on a health club, plus the gas to drive to it each day, I could put a gym in my house and save money.
I took a spare bedroom, pulled up the carpet and put down a foam gym floor. I then painted the room in my favorite Ohio State Buckeye colors.
I headed out to Play it Again Sports and bought a bunch of used gym equipment (big money saver) and I now had The Buckeye Gym that was located right in my house.
No more creepy guys (other than me) to worry about and I didn't have to try and look cool while I pumped iron (which I do of course).
If I want to workout at 3AM? No Problem!
If I'm in the middle of a workout and the phone rings, I can answer and head into my home office for the call. Then I can get right back in the gym after the call.
If you have the room in your house, I high recommend setting up your own gym. You'll be glad you did and so will your wallet.
