You Can Thank Brian Williams for That

The people's trust in the media took another hit in the latest poll.

A Gallup poll finds that six in 10 Americans don't trust the media to report the news fully, accurately and fairly.

Other polls have shown that people's trust in the media is eroding, but  Gallup poll on the subject is particularly troubling for mainstream journalists. The poll finds that 60 percent of Americans say they have "not very much" trust in the media or "none at all."

Only 33 percent say they have a "fair amount" of trust in media.

Ten years ago, Gallup found that Americans were evenly divided – 50-50 – regarding their trust and lack of trust in the media.
