El Dorado (Arkansas) Police have arrested and charged a south Arkansas man with kidnapping and commercial burglary after attacking KTVE reporter Brea Douglas Sunday night.

The attacked happened as Douglas was leaving the El Dorado newsroom.
The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Demetrian McElroy, forced Douglas back into the Main Street newsroom, held her down and showed a knife.

Two out of town visitors staying at the guest quarters heard Douglas' screams and came to her help. The suspect ran off and police were unable to find the suspect Sunday night.

On Tuesday, Douglas was able to identify McElroy as the suspect.

A warrant was issued for his arrest and on Wednesday he was taken into custody in the downtown El Dorado area before going to the Union County Jail, where he remains on $100,000 bond.

El Dorado Police say the investigation into McElroy is ongoing and he could be facing more charges in the near future.
