6 1/2 Hours of News with Less Than 10 People

Insiders at Allen Media’s WSIL (Southern Illinois) tell FTVLive that the station is producing over 6 hours of news a day with a staff of 7 or 8 people.

“WSIL has just 4 anchors. 1 morning, 1 weekend and 2 for the rest of the working day. You got to be kidding!” said a station insider, “If anyone gets sick, you're in "Titanic" trouble.”

On a Saturday, they had no Anchor and canceled the evening newscast and filled it with a rerun of Seinfeld.

“Who would want to work there let alone get paid peanuts. 7/8 personnel in a newsroom producing 6 1/2 hours of news daily plus posting to social media. This is a travesty.  The community deserves better.” the insider said.

If you ask me, Allen Media gave up on serving the public a long time ago. As for how they treat their employees….don’t get me started.
