Getting to Sleep In
/Longtime KPLC (Lake Charles) morning Anchor John Bridges joined the station in 1992.
Now, he has announced he’s going to retire. “I’ve always wanted to do this, since the time I saw KPLC from the window of Muller’s department store across the street when I was about 7 years old,” Bridges said. “I walked across the street and was smitten by the announcers on the old KPLC radio.”
“I’ve been in broadcasting for 50 years in May, 33 years here at KPLC, and feel it’s time to relax just a bit and not wake up at 2 a.m. each day,” he said. “I’m not going to disappear and plan to stay active in the community. I’ll always love my time at KPLC.”
He’s signing off in June.
