Fired By Tegna

An employee who was recently one of those that was laid off at a Tegna station committed suicide last week.

The former staffer worked in production and was let go as the Tegna station implemented the "CUEZ" automation system.

For privacy reasons, FTVLive is not naming the former Tegna employee, or the station.

We do want to say that it sucks that so many media companies are making cuts. But, don’t let their greed and bad management make you feel that any of this is your fault.

If you need help, reach out to family, friends, or even professionals to help you. You will get through it, I promise.

There is no media company that is worth dying for.

To the former co-workers of this employee, I say lean on your co-workers and have each other’s backs.

This business can be so very cruel, but keep moving forward.
