This Nexstar Station Found Their Replacement

Last week, FTVLive told you that Nexstar’s KTLA seemed to be having trouble trying to a replacement for Entertainment Reporter Sam Rubin passed away suddenly late last year.

The station has posted Rubin’s old job three different times, but wasn’t filled.

The station hasn’t made an announcement yet, but sources tell FTVLive that KTLA has poached Melvin Robert from KTTV who is the Anchor of Good Day LA from 6-9 AM. Robert was also working as an LA correspondent for the show Extra.

KTTV had matching rights in Robert’s contract, but it appears they will not be exercising that clause.

Despite KTTV knowing that Robert is leaving, they have kept him on the morning newscast, which is odd, but then again, it’s The Firm

Look for KTLA to make the announcement soon and viewers will likely see him on the read carpet covering the Oscars for KTLA early next month.

When the press release comes out, you’ll be able to read it on the other websites, we just thought we would give you the news first.
