The New Boss in Chi-Town
/One could argue that Nexstar’s best and brightest station is WGN in Chicago. With the highly rated morning show and a community presence, WGN is a bright spot for Nexstar.
Last year, WGN General Manager Paul Rennie retired and the company has been looking for a replacement.
They have chose Ric Harris as the next GM for WGN. Harris comes from WCAU in Philly, a station that has seen a number of problems recently.
Let’s see what quote the Nexstar creative team wrote for Harris to supposedly say. “WGN is a powerhouse in local news and the home of high-quality CW programming, including live sports like Xfinity series racing, college football and basketball, and WWE NXT wrestling, as well as original entertainment programs,” said Mr. Harris. “WGN has forged a deep connection with Chicago-area viewers and has a legacy of quality programming, special coverage of important local events, and service to the community. When you combine all that with the resources of Nexstar, you create a tremendous opportunity for success.”
Does any real person actually talk like that?
