Tegna Station Kicks Weatherman to the Curb
/Tegna’s KXTV (Sacramento) aired a prerecorded weekend weather segment that was produced 500 miles south at KGTV.
KXTV weekend Meteorologist Brenden Mincheff now shows to be "OpenToWork" on his LinkedIn page where he indicates he can start work elsewhere "Immediately, I am actively applying"
He is part of what he posted on social media:
“There's no other way to put it: It has been a tough few months in the television weather industry. I'm now in my final two weeks with ABC10 in Sacramento, having been a victim of the TEGNA weather layoffs.
However, I refuse to lose the faith and am determined to turn this setback into a comeback! 💪
🔎 I'm actively looking for broadcast weather roles, particularly in California. I've acquired a wealth of west coast weather, climate, water, and fire knowledge (and connections!) during my time at ABC10 and I want to bring that to another part of the Golden State!
I'm accepting a company buyout, which means I can wait a few months for the right opportunity to open up. Even if it isn't open yet, please reach out! Let's talk!”
