Allen Media Meteorologists Hold Out Hope

FTVLive received this email from one of the AMG Mets that is getting pushed out by the company.

They are holding out hope that this all blows up in Allen Media’s face.

Here’s the email:

Hey Scott,
(on the record but with the condition of anonymity, of course).
I've been in news for a hot minute ... have followed FTVLive through it all, but have never had a reason to reach out.

There is a sliver of hope that Allen will pull back this plan. The backlash has been swift and aggressive, from viewers to partners to advertisers. Additionally, a handful of us were offered a job to 'join the hub' in Atlanta, but to my knowledge, we've all said no. Because it would be suicide.

If they can't staff the hub AND our partners stop working with us because we don't have a met on staff AND advertisers continue to pull out, this might be reversed. There is no timeline for the official launch.

I'm not naive enough to think it will save everyone, but some boots on the ground might be saved in certain markets.

Or ... fingers crossed ... Allen files for bankruptcy first.

Thanks for continuing to try to hold the corporate overlords accountable... some of us still love local news and are not going down without a fight.
