It appears that Nexstar’s KLAS (Las Vegas) is running their morning newscast on lean mode.
Sources say that the Sin City station has morning Anchor John Langeler doing the heavy lifting since morning co-anchor Kirsten Joyce left in April.
Langeler has been soloing the 3 hour block with some assists of reporting on lighter stories from weather anchor Sherry Swensk and traffic anchor Nate Tannenbaum.
Yesterday, the station really went lean (screenshot above), with Tannenbaum handling both weather and traffic along with reading some of the lighter stories. Langeler handled the hard news on the show.
So, basically it was two people doing the 3 hour morning newscast. Now, while the Nexstar suits might love the money the station is saving, it might be best if the station add a few more bodies to the morning newscast.
