If Trump Survives, Blame Fox News

Brian Stelter’s minion Oliver Darcy, wrote in the Reliable Sources newsletter that if Donald Trump is not impeached, you can blame Fox News.

Darcy writes, “Make no mistake: If Trump survives the deepening scandal he now finds himself in, it will be because of Fox and the rest of the pro-Trump media machine muddying the waters and poisoning the public conversation.”

So, I guess if Trump is impeached, you can thank CNN.

This is where cable news journalism has gone.

It is no longer about presenting both sides of the story and letting the viewers decide. It is now about taking a side and then beating your opinion into the viewer’s brains.

This is just how badly cable news has lost its way.

Darcy writes that people like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Tucker Carlson are running the GOP. He says, “Elected Republicans know that speaking out against Trump will result in facing a vicious wrath from the very people who their voters trust most.”

If anyone is wondering why this country is so divided and so full of hate for the other side, you need to look no further than cable news.

People like Hannity, Carlson, Cuomo, and Maddow want to run the country, but not by running for office. They want to do it from behind the anchor desk and their bosses let them do so.

When you hear people talk about how bad the media is and how it is “corrupt” and “fake news” almost all of them are referring to cable news.

I talk to viewers all the time and they rail on the media like nothing I have never before seen or heard before in my life. But, when you start talking to them, almost every single one of their complaints has to do with cable news.

Ask yourself, would this country be in a much better place if cable news did not exist?

I think I know what your answer is.

The good news, all of the cable news channels are losing viewers. But, it’s a long way to go before they are out of business.

Do the people that work at Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC really enjoy going to work? I’m not talking about the egos on TV, but the people behind the scenes. Do they really feel good about what their network is doing? Are they OK with the flat out hate for the other side that comes out of the hosts’ mouths every night?

How nice would it be if the facts on Donald Trump were presented with no opinion and both lawmakers and viewers could decide what to do?

No lawmaker would have to worry about what Sean Hannity or Don Lemon would say, but instead, just do the right thing.

How much better would our country be?
