I Think You're Missing Something Skippy

CNN’s Media Critic Brian Stelter loves jumping all over juicy stories, as long as it does not involve his network.

Yesterday, Stelter made himself available to all the CNN shows to dish on the allegations that Matt Lauer raped a former co-worker in a hotel room.

Stelter said this, “Were the proper protections in place for employees like this?” Stelter said. “How could Lauer have been sleeping — allegedly raping, in one case, a female colleague, without management knowing?”

Of course, one of Lauer’s longtime bosses, when he was at NBC, was Jeff Zucker.

Zucker is now the head of CNN and Stelter’s boss. This is something that Stelter did not bring up.

Earlier this year at Zucker’s 54th birthday party, Matt Lauer was on the guest list and showed up to celebrate with his longtime boss.

In fact, it was Zucker that hired Lauer at Today. This is all parts of the story that Stelter seemed to miss.

If Stelter is going to report on Matt Lauer, he should include Zucker’s name and role in the story.

But then again, Brian has never been very good when the story hits close to home.

Also, maybe someone might want to take a closer look at Zucker’s actions at NBC, it might make for some interesting findings in itself.

Just saying…
