It is not uncommon for network Anchors to hit the road during sweeps and that is exactly what NBC's Lester Holt is doing as he crisscrosses the county to anchor Nightly News this week.

But, Fox News media critic Brian Flood says that Holt's trip is nothing more than a "'desperation tour' to save struggling evening newscast."

"Struggling newscast"? Holt's Nightly News has basically won the 25-54 demo since he signed as the Anchor. He often wins in total viewers as well. Yes ABC has come on as a competitor, but calling Holt's newscast as "struggling" or that he is in "desperation" mode is a bit much.

But, the Fox News story was written by Brian Flood, who desperately wants to be the next Brian Stelter. Think about that for a minute?

Flood has penned a couple of stories (Here and Here) about NBC News and Holt in the past and one would think that Flood has a bit of an obsession with both Holt, NBC and their travel schedule.

We do have to give Flood props this time for writing a story about NBC and not using the word "embarrassment."

Flood did drop this little item in his latest story, "(Brian)Williams reportedly has assurances from embattled NBC News Chairman Andy Lack that he can return to his “Nightly News” role “as soon as Lester implodes,” according to one NBC News producer who spoke to Fox News."

When reached for comment, an NBC News spokeswoman provided the following statement to Flood: “Not a single story you’ve written about the internal workings of NBC News has been accurate, and neither is this one."

I hate to agree with the NBC News spokeswoman, but I 100% agree with the NBC News spokeswoman.

Just saying...
