The Meredith Consolidation in Phoenix?

When Meredith joined KPHO and KTVK the company steadfastly said that the two stations would not consolidate the news operations. 

Meredith said that they would operate news departments at the stations separately, keeping staffing levels necessary to operate both stations.

That no longer seems to be the case. 

This past weekend, KTVK Anchor Brandon Lee popped up on KPHO, something that the station said would not happen.

Sources also tell FTVLive that KPHO Consumer Reporter Dave Cherry was kicked to the curb on Friday. Word is that the consumer stories will now be handled by the KTVK people. 

Reporters at KTVK and KPHO are now popping up on each other's air. 

It appears that Meredith is slowly consolidating the two stations. Something that they said they would not do. 

Hmmmmm?
