WTNH (New Haven) Weatherman Kevin Arnone is leaving the station and starting his own website.

"I had a great 4 years at WTNH and can't thank my managers and coworkers enough for the great experience and opportunity," Arnone said.

As for his new venture on the web?

"I love to forecast weather, I love Connecticut and no matter where my career takes me I want to make sure I can still be apart and make an impact on the viewers that helped me get my career started. "

As to how the website will pay the bills, Arnone answered: "My eventual plan is to make it a very affordable subscription base. I'm also in the works of adding a private section for business owners such as construction/plows/landscape etc. where they can receive private forecast to their EXACT location! If anyone wants to advertise, I'd gladly add them to my site."

As far as the future, Arnone is keeping his options open.

"I don't know where my career will take me next, but I'm excited to find out and start a long lasting career at another station doing what I love, forecasting weather!"

When FTVLive walked away from TV news to do an internet thing, everyone told us it won't work and you will be back in TV news before you know it.

That was almost 20 years ago.
