Out the Door in Tucson

It appears that KOLD is losing two on air staffers, including their main Weatherman.

It appears that Chief Meteorologist Kevin Jeanes was getting sick of telling people that live in the desert that it is going to be "sunny and hot" each and everyday.

So, Jeans is leaving the station and so is Reporter/MMJ Maria Hechanova.

Here are the internal memos sent to the staff and obtained by FTVLive:

Chief Meteorologist Kevin Jeanes

Kevin has decided to take himself and his brand new fiancée back home to the Midwest.  As you all know, Kevin lives up to his title as Chief Meteorologist.  He has done a remarkable job telling our weather stories day-in and day-out while successfully executing our First Alert brand.

In addition to wanting to be closer to home, Kevin is craving the opportunity to work in a more active weather market.

Kevin’s not leaving us right away.  His last day is Friday, October 13th.  Please join me in thanking him for all he’s done for us and our viewers.

Reporter/MMJ Maria Hechanova

We all know her as “Hech” and she has a reputation for wearing comfy footwear and fanny packs.  Now Maria is taking her style and outstanding reporting skills elsewhere.  Maria has done an amazing job here over the past 4 years, working whatever shift has been needed.  Her witty nature and laughter will definitely be missed in the newsroom.  Please join me in thanking her for all she’s done for KOLD and our viewers.  Her last day will be Thursday, June 15th.

It seems that Maria is taking her fanny pack and getting the Hech out of there.

Ok.....I'll stop now.

FTVLive's favorite Tucson Reporter Janice Yu remains at the station. But, one can wonder for how long before she is snatched up by a bigger market?
