Back on the Air in Buffalo

WIVB Anchor Don Postles missed half the ratings book while recovering from an undisclosed illness. 

But, the longtime Anchor returned to the Nexstar station this week. 

Halfway through the 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts, co-anchor Jacquie Walker and Postles engaged in brief happy talk about his return.

After acknowledging a "familiar face" was back at 11 p.m., Walker asked Postles: "Where have you been?"

"Where have I been?" answered Postles, who looked like he had lost some weight. "You don't want to know. But I am back and that is the good news."

Postles has never said, nor has the station as to why he was off the air? Sources say Postles broke a couple of ribs and that led to pneumonia and some time in intensive care before he recovered and had to wait for doctor's approval before returning to work.
