Time to go into the FTVLive email account for another installment of "What's Up with you Dude?"
Email 1 - Just found your website and it has quickly become my new favorite site. Can I ask what company owns you?
Scott: First off glad you love FTVLive.com and second, sure you can ask. FTVLive is owned by no company and is completely independent. Although Roger Ailes does send us some hush money each month not to report that he's a foundering member of the Jon Stewart fan club.
Email 2 - I have noticed that a lot of people in TV news are married or dating other people that work in TV news. Who do you think is the cutest couple?
Scott: That's an easy one:
Email 3 - I LOVE FTVLive! I was wondering what websites do you read each day?
Scott - I can't list them all, I read hundreds of sites each day. I guess my favorites are Gawker, Engadget, NY Daily News and Twit. I also like stopping by YouPorn. But I just go there for the articles.
Email 4 - I sent my resume to a News Director. I called him and asked if he received my resume? He told me yes and that he would call me back. It's been 3 weeks! What does that mean?
Scott - Welcome to TV news and Oh....By the way.... He isn't calling.
Email 5 - What's your best advice to someone getting into TV news?
Scott - My best advice is to become a Producer. Not a week goes by that I don't talk to some News Director that isn't looking for a good Producer. Also plan on moving a lot in your career. Last but not least, never play choke the chicken with Ron Morrison... you're going to lose.
