Sinclair has reintroduced its Broadcast Diversity Scholarship and it is now open for applications.

In 2015, Sinclair Broadcast Group established a $500,000 Broadcast Diversity Scholarship Fund.  Since then, the fund has distributed over $70,000 in financial assistance to students demonstrating a promising future in the broadcast industry.

Past recipients include those active in their campus television stations, local associations of broadcast journalists and community charities.  Broadcast Diversity Fund Scholars have gone on to pursue careers in the field and even joined Sinclair.

"As the nation's largest broadcaster, it is our responsibility to help ensure the future of the industry," SVP of Human Resources, Don Thompson said.  "This scholarship demonstrates our commitment to investing in the students who will contribute to the broadcasting industry for years to come."

The scholarship is open to minority students who are current sophomores or juniors at an accredited four-year university.  Students are able to apply for up to $5,000 based on their financial need.
