When CBS bumped John Dickerson to CBS THis Morning to replace Charlie Rose who was fired for sexual misconduct, they needed to fill Dickerson's "Face the Nation" gig on Sunday morning.

CBS finally handed the job to a woman and we for one say it's about damn time.

The network named White House and senior foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan as the new face of "Face the Nation".

Brennan will take over the program this Sunday.

The last time a woman hosted Face it was Lesley Stahl, who held the job from 1983 to 1991.

Brennan's recent run of high-profile interviews for CBS News earned her kudos internally and helped her snare the job.
