Life After TV News....

Former WGRZ Reporter and Weekend Anchor Erika Brason is hitting the bike for her career after TV news.

After leaving the Tegna station, Brason is looking to open an indoor cycling and fitness complex just outside of Buffalo.

Brason plans to open Rebel Ride Indoor Cycling & Strength in the Buffalo suburb of Clarence.

Brason says that immersive indoor cycling is similar to that offered by SoulCycle or Flywheel, which don't have any locations in the Buffalo area. and it will have a different atmosphere than a gym spinning class.

The cycling theater will have about 40 cycles, stadium-style seating and special sensory lighting. A second studio will offer strength-training and core-building classes.

Brason expects to hire about 20 primarily part-time employees, and she is bringing in veteran out-of-town instructors to train her instructors.

She anticipates spending $750,000 on the facility, equipment and employee training, and hopes to open by fall.

So while Tegna is firing staff, this former Anchor is hoping to add people to the employment numbers.
