The defamation trial against CNN has started.

Zachary Young, a U.S. Navy veteran, is suing CNN over a 2021 segment that aired on “The Lead with Jake Tapper.” Young claims the network falsely painted him as an “illegal profiteer” exploiting “desperate Afghans” with “exorbitant” extraction fees amid the fallout of President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.

In court yesterday, Young’s lawyers claim that CNN did not adhere to the discovery in providing videos from their air, including teasers.

Young’s lawyers learned of more videos after watching coverage by Fox News.

The trial is expected to last a couple of weeks.
