It's time to rate the 4th best TV market to work in and it is Sacramento.
Sacramento is just about the only big California market that you can work in and afford to live. Sacramento is the 20th market and it is all about location.
People in Sacramento love to tell you that you are an hour from the mountains and an hour from San Francisco. But, if you live in Sac Town, there is still plenty to do. You have the Sacramento Kings for NBA basketball, one of the most beautiful state capitals in the country and being up the road from Napa valley, a lot of good wine.
Working in the state capital you are never far from a political story. If you are a political junkie this is a great market.
You can live anywhere from downtown to the foothills and still find a decent price. The weather in Sacramento is very good, although you can get some very dense fog in the Winter time.
The market pays well and of course in California you can expect to be taxed a lot. Although Sacramento is in the 20th market, a number of people find themselves making moves to much bigger markets after just a few years.
