Throwing the Book at Roger Ailes

The New York Times got an advanced copy of Gabriel Sherman's new biography about Fox News president Roger Ailes "The Loudest Voice in the Room," and we'll go out on a limb here and say it's not one the folks at Fox News want you to read.

The book says that Ailes told fellow Fox News executives point-blank: “I want to elect the next president.”

Former employees cited in the book talked of Ailes’s volatile temper and domineering behavior.

It also seems that Ailes is not all that impressed with his on air talent, privately calling Bill O’Reilly “a book salesman with a TV show” and Brian Kilmeade, a peppy Fox host, “a soccer coach from Long Island.”

But the juiciest tid-bit may have happened when Ailes was at NBC. In one anecdote, a television producer, Randi Harrison, told Mr. Sherman that while negotiating her salary with Ailes at NBC in the 1980s, he offered her an additional $100 each week “if you agree to have sex with me whenever I want.”

$100 bucks to sleep with Roger Ailes?

Ummmmm no thanks!
