Winning and Losing in the Windy City Ratings

WLS might have won the November ratings, but the win has a bit of a sour taste for the longtime Chicago powerhouse.

Robert Feder writes that WLS finished first in total viewership at 4, 5, 6 and 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. But its late news ratings were down 13 percent from one year ago, representing a net loss of more than 41,700 households.

As for the morning news, forget the other local stations or the network morning shows, FTVLive favorite WGN and their "Morning News" topped the AM ratings.

WGN's newscast drew more viewers at 6 a.m. than most newscasts throughout the day or night on any other station.

Of course many believe that might be because FTVLive posts so many clips from WGN and mentions them often enough that they are blowing everyone else out of the water.

Then again...maybe not.
