Twin Cities News Director to Fox Sports 1
FOX Sports announced that Bill Dallman, a longtime executive at multiple FOX owned-and- operated news stations, has been tabbed to serve as Vice President/News Director for FOX Sports 1, America’s new sports network, coming August 17.
Dallman reports to Rick Jaffe, Senior Vice President, News, beginning July 1, and works with affiliates and FOX Sports Regional networks in managing the news-gathering operation and overseeing the editorial format of FOX SPORTS LIVE, the network’s signature three-hour news, opinion and highlight show airing nightly at 11:00 PM ET.
“Bill is a tremendous addition to the news group and we are very excited to have someone with his expertise involved with FOX Sports 1,” said Jaffe. “Bill is not only a great news man, but a creative thinker who will bring a different perspective to traditional sports coverage.''
FOX SPORTS LIVE has already announced several key on-air hires, including former tennis champion Andy Roddick as a co-host; Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole, the primary highlights team; anchor Don Bell; with Molly McGrath and Julie Stewart-Binks serving as update desk and breaking news correspondents.
“I’m thrilled to be joining FOX Sports 1 team and I’m ready to bring viewers a unique, dynamic and fun sports highlights and opinion show in FOX SPORTS LIVE,” Dallman said. “My extensive background in news, matched with my knowledge and love of sports, is the perfect fit for a 24/7 sports/news operation.”
Dallman, who has a history of news development and expansion, comes from KMSP FOX 9 News in Minneapolis/St. Paul, where in his role as Vice President/News Director he added nearly 20 hours of news a week in his first three years, oversaw the redesign of the station web site and launch of mobile apps and streaming platforms, and scored the highest news ratings in station history across morning, evening and late-night newscasts.
