Miami Anchor Fined By City for Trashy Home
WSVN anchor Belkys Nerey has been fined by the city of Miami for keeping a blighted property and not registering it with authorities.
The order, filed with the Miami-Dade County Clerk of the Courts earlier this month, shows that the Nerey owns an investment property that is “blighted, unsecured or abandoned” in the family-friendly neighborhood near downtown MIami.
Nerey was fined $250 and was ordered to register the little gray house with the city’s buildings department.
“Belkys will pay her fine and correct whatever violations there are,” said Jennifer Brilliant, a realtor who is trying to sell the three-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1,900-square-foot home.
The house, built in 1929, is listed for $170,000.
Records show the Fox affiliate’s anchorwoman bought the digs in 1999 for $160,000.
Said Nerey: “This problem has been taken care of.”
