San Antonio Reporter Heads to Houston
Brian Collister of WOAI in San Antonio will join KTRK ( Houston Channel 13) as the station’s investigative reporter, filling the vacancy left by Wayne Dolcefino’s departure from the station last year, the station said Wednesday.
Collister, who graduated from McCullough High School in The Woodlands and from Sam Houston State University, has worked for the San Antonio station for 13 years as part of its “Trouble Shooters” unit. He has won seven Lone Star Emmy awards and is a member of Investigative Reporters and Editors, a board member of the Texas Freedom of Information Foundation and a licensed private investigator.
“I am thrilled and honored to join 13-Eyewitness News and to be a part of one of the most prestigious investigative teams in the country,” Collister said in a statement issued by Channel 13. “I look forward to adding to its legacy.”
Dave Strickland, the station’s news director, described Collister as “a guy with the right amount of grit and investigative know-how who can put his skills to work immediately.”
Dolcefino was Channel 13′s longtime “13 Undercover” reporter before departing the ABC-owned station last November after 26 years.
