When the rating book is over, it's time to have a drink. But you might not want to drive after you tie one on. 

The news director at Albany, NY  television stations WTEN and WXXA was charged early Thursday with driving drunk after allegedly leaving his lane and running a red light on Western Avenue, police said.

David J. Ciliberti, 53, of Cohoes, was stopped just before midnight while driving his white Ford SUV west on Western Avenue just past Manning Boulevard, according to police and court records.

An officer pulled Ciliberti over after allegedly seeing him drift out of his lane and drive through the red light at Homestead and Western avenues, police said.

According to court records, Ciliberti smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech, gave inconsistent answers on where he had been and where he was headed and failed several field sobriety tests. He also allegedly admitted to an officer that he had one — then two — beers, according to court records.

Ciliberti refused to submit to a breath-alcohol test at the police station, resulting in the automatic temporary suspension of his license at his arraignment Thursday morning in City Court. Ciliberti was charged with misdemeanor DWI and two traffic infractions.

City Court Judge Rachel Kretser released Ciliberti on his own recognizance and ordered him to return to court on March 21.

A message left for Ciliberti was not immediately returned Thursday afternoon. WTEN General Manager Andy Alford also could not immediately reached for comment.

Ciliberti will also face a DMV hearing for his alleged refusal to submit to the breath test.
