Did Matt Lauer forget to thank Cardinal Dolan after he appeared on the Today Show?

The Cardinal was on Today, talking about the news that the Pope was stepping down at the end of the month.

Shortly after Cardinal Dolan left the air, Matt Lauer set out this tweet:

Didn't Lauer tell the Cardinal thanks for stopping by after the interview? So he quickly popped out a Tweet the the Holy Man?

We have not seen Lauer thank any other guests on Twitter. FTVLive has never seen Lauer send out a "thanks" tweet to Honey Boo Boo after she appeared on the air.

Or was Lauer crowing to competition that he had the Cardinal and they didn't. Or maybe Matt thinks the Cardinal is going to be the next Pope and we wants to start sucking up now.

But is more than likely that he was just trying to rub Ann Curry's face in the fact he's still on Today and she isn't. Isn't that all that really matters to Lauer anyway?

BTW, Cardinal Dolan is on Twitter and he only follows one person..... The Pope
