Retired tv reporter here.
As the US government crumbles, local news reporters are still posting GRWM and look at my chicken cutlet frying.
And as more and more people turn away from linear newscasts and get their news from social media, wouldn’t you think REPORTERS would want to report where the eyeballs are? Instead it’s happy baby pictures and links to shop their outfits. This is how democracy crumbles.
Sorry for the rant. I just miss when local news was less about the cult of personality and more about … the news.

Scott,
After reading the article about the Youngstown reporter suing the railroad company I wonder how she thinks she has a case. I equate this as going to a house fire than suing because you damaged your lungs from inhaling smoke. Common sense tells you if you go to a chemical spill some chemicals may be leaking. If she has any sense maybe who she should be suing is her TV station who assigned her to a dangerous story. Maybe she heard about the railroad payouts to the residents affected and thinks she should get some too.

If I’m CNN’s lawyers, I see the quote you put and immediately file an appeal.
Any of the jurors using the phrase “fake news” proves they were biased, lied they could be impartial and had no intention of returning any other verdict than this one. They came into this with one mindset and weren’t changing.
It’s just too bad the 6th was a coward and probably just wanted to get out of there so they changed their mind.
Lastly, I got this email from a viewer in Rochester, MN. Emails from pissed off TV news viewers come in much more often than you think.
Why did the noon newscast change at KTTC? I really don’t like it anymore. Seems like a rediculous change. Please change it back or I will watch the competition that has the full broadcast with Rochester newscasters. Thank you.
