Everything is Great at Sinclair
Sinclair reported their 4th quarter earnings and all looks great. The company said that For full year 2024, revenues bumped up 13% to over $3.5 billion. Media revenues rose 13% to over $3.5 billion. Total advertising spiked 25%, to over $1.6 billion, although core was down 3%, to about $1.2 billion. Distribution came in at nearly $1.75 billion vs. $1.68 billion. And operating income was just over $551 million, vs. a loss of $331 million. As of 2024, 80% of Sinclair’s traditional Big 4 MVPD subscriber bases are on new retransmission agreements. And net retrans revenue grew by more than 5% year-over-year.
So, if everything is so good, why did they cut people from the payroll?
