And Here is the Proof
FTVLive has been telling you that Tegna is looking to start farming out weather across many of their stations.
If you want proof, check out this job posting from Tegna looking for a Meteorologist, which says in part:
“TEGNA is seeking a fulltime Meteorologist to support various TEGNA television stations. In this unique role, they will be at the forefront of forecasting and presenting weather to viewers across multiple TEGNA markets, depending on where severe weather is expected. Because this role will be supporting various markets, depending on the need, they will need to become experts in all forms of severe weather and unique weather patterns. In addition, this role will be involved with weather presentation on our streaming products. Based at one of our TEGNA television stations (location negotiable), you'll have the opportunity to showcase your expertise across the country and work in tandem with weather teams at various TEGNA stations. It used to be that the Meteorologist was the most important talent in the newsroom.
In 2025, they are becoming and after thought.
