Less of Lester
NBC News announced that Lester Holt will be leaving his anchor role on NBC Nightly news at the beginning of Summer.
Holt will continue at the network as the main Anchor on Dateline NBC.
NBC News did not immediately name Holt’s successor, but FTVLive will.
Look for NBC to name Tom Llamas as the replacement to Holt.
In a memo to the staff, Hoit wrote, “A smile comes to my face when I think that with Nightly News, and Dateline, I have now anchored two of the most successful and iconic television news programs in broadcast history,” Holt wrote in a note Monday to “Nightly” and “Dateline” staffers. “As a 20-year-old radio reporter on the police beat chasing breaking news around San Francisco, I could never have imagined my career path would unfold in the way it has. What an amazing ride.”
Look for NBC News to name Tom Llamas as Holt’s replacement in the near future and try and act surprised when it happens.
