It Still Has a Bad Smell to It
Back in August, in a story that we slugged “Something Smells Fish in the Big Easy,” FTVLive told you that when WDSU Chief Meteorologist Margret Orr retired, many belived that longtime WDSU Met Damon Singleton would be getting the Chief job at the Hearst station.
Singleton had been with the station nearly two decades and if he was bumped up to Chief Met, he would have been the first Black CM in New Orleans. He ended up “retiring” and the station played it off like it was a happy moment. It was not.
Singleton went on a local podcast and you can see, he still feels like he got the shaft and many viewers feel the same way. Several people are throwing around the word “racism” and I can’t say I blame them.
