Gone in the Twin Cites

Viewers of KSTP in Minneapolis will no longer see popular Meteorologist Wren Clair on the Hubbard station.

Clair delivered her final forecast on Wednesday before leaving, with no reason given for her departure. “Wren Clair is no longer employed by KSTP-TV,” said Channel 5 News Director Kirk Varner. “We wish her the best with her next opportunity.” Varner declined to comment further on personnel matters.

Clair joined the Twin Cities station in 2018, having previously worked at stations in Wisconsin and Boston.

In 2020, she was promoted to the prime slot of evening meteorologist for the station’s 5, 6, and 10 p.m. newscasts, following longtime weatherman Dave Dahl's retirement.

Clair quickly became a viewer favorite, with fans like Peg Wiggins expressing their admiration on social media, “Wren Clair was one of the best weather forecasters in the Twin Cities, and she was the main reason I would tune in to KSTP.”

Clair could not be reached for comment on her rapid departure.
