Bill Martin, who joined KTVU (Oakland) in 1992 as a weekend meteorologist, has announced that his final day on air will be at the end of February.

Martin, now the Chief Met at the station announced his retirement, marking the end of an era for the Oakland TV station. Martin says he looks forward to pursuing his passions and spending more time with his beloved dog, Karl—named after San Francisco’s famous fog.
