Allen Confirms What FTVLive FIRST Told You
FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you that Allen Media was going to screw over the Meteorologists at their stations and start hubbing forecasts out of The Weather Channel.
After FTVLive reported this story last week, Allen Media put out a press release on Saturday (who puts out a release on Saturday) confirming what we FIRST reported.
The release starts by saying:
The Allen Media Group (AMG) broadcast television station division, Allen Media Broadcasting (AMB), is rolling out a groundbreaking format for local weather coverage powered by The Weather Channel across local markets nationwide. This innovative partnership based at The Weather Channel’s Atlanta headquarters brings together world-class meteorological expertise, cutting-edge technology, and the most advanced forecasting tools to deliver superior weather content to local television station audiences. This new weather initiative, which will have additional visual storytelling capabilities, is set to roll out across AMB’s local television markets in 2025.
I would post more of the release, but you can tell from the first paragraph this is nothing but corporate bullshit.
If they wanted to be truthful, they would have changed the line, “Allen Media is rolling out a groundbreaking format for local weather coverage powered by The Weather Channel.” to this, “Allen Media as found the cheapest way to deliver pre-recorded weather reports out to our local stations which we continue to gut, and put of the least expensive newscasts in history.”
FTVLive will continue to follow this story and bring you the latest. And unlike the other TV websites, will call bullshit when we see bullshit.
