WISN announced that they have hired Derrick Rose to lead the station's flagship investigative unit.

Rose comes to Milwaukee from WHAS in Louisville, Ky.

His hiring follows the retirement of veteran journalist Colleen Henry in late July.

The station says that Rose’s investigative reporting will include uncovering and exposing corruption and holding public officials accountable. His past work includes the federal dog fighting investigation of NFL quarterback Michael Vick, Kentucky's backlog of untested rape kits, the tragedy surrounding Hurricane Katrina and the trial of reputed Ku Klux Klansman Edgar Ray Killen.

“Derrick will continue the important investigative work that 12 News has long been known for,” said Jan Wade, president and general manager of WISN 12. “He’s a veteran investigator, with the instincts needed to expose wrongdoing ... and people who are doing bad things in our community.”
