Cox Has a Buyer for TV Stations

Back in July, FTVLive FIRST told you that the Cox Media group was putting their stations up for sale.

It now looks like Cox has found a buyer for it’s 14 stations, which include WSB (Atlanta) WPXI (Pittsburgh) WFXT (Boston) WFTV (Orlando) and others.

Insiders tell FTVLive that some staffers are being told that the company plans to divulge who the buyer is by mid-December.

It also appears that some of the company’s newspapers may also be a part of a deal.

Word is that staff at the Atlanta Journal Constitution, who shares a design hub with the Dayton Daily News have been told they will be splitting back apart into separate news operations on Jan. 1.

Look for an official announcement in the coming weeks.
