Signing Off in San Francisco

KRON Morning Anchor Mark Danon has signed off from the Nexstar station and is now going full time into the TV agent business.

He joined KRON 4 in January 2002 and has decided to write a new chapter in his TV career.

Danon will join his wife Dana Adams (also a former Anchor) at the agency Adams Broadcasting Consulting.

Adams agency has become one of the best in the business and she and Mark felt it was time to take the next step and expand by bringing him on full-time.

Both Danon and Adams recently dealt with a big scare on the California wildfires. The two were evacuated from their home and spent days unable to get to their home. A number of their neighbor's homes were burned to the ground.

Both Danon and Adams have had enough of the fires and crazy California weather. They have decided to relocate to Arizona and grow their agency in the Valley of the Sun.

No more 2AM wake-up calls for the morning Anchor and a new life as a TV agent.

It appears there is life after TV news.

Here is the memo that Danon sent to the staff and obtained by FTVLive:

Needless to say its been a very difficult week since fleeing my home at 3am last monday with a massive fire on the ridge above my Sonoma home.  I have spent the  last week helping friends protect their homes and watching friends lose their homes. It has been heartbreaking. My neighborhood is still standing. Thankfully my family is safe. But it was really close and we can’t thank the firefighters and all emergency personnel enough for all they have done.
The Sonoma Valley is such a magical place. And having lived in this tight-knit community for 12 years, I believe all of
wine country will recover faster than anyone anticipates.

Events like this sometimes  lead people to reassess their lives. And after 16 years I have decided it is time fo me to leave KRON4. Thank you to Young/Lin/Media General/Nexstar for my employment at the station.

I am joining Adams Broadcast Consulting, Inc. in a full-time capacity; A talent and media consulting agency my wife and partner, Dana Adams and I founded  17 years ago.   Devoting all my efforts to ABCI has always been my goal and I am looking forward to the opportunity.

I wish you all the best in your current and future endeavors.

Regards
Mark Danon
