Louisville Station's News Car Involved in Fatal Accident

Louisville Police believe a news vehicle belonging to WHAS was involved in a crash that killed a pedestrian Friday night.

in a story on  their website, WHAS confirmed that witnesses told police one of their vehicles was involved in the crash. The station said the vehicle has been impounded, and they are cooperating with the investigation.

Alicia Smiley, a spokeswoman for the Louisville Metro Police Department, said, "We believe the second vehicle involved is that of a news station, but we are trying to determine what that involvement is. The incident is still under investigation."

58 year old Fontaine Jeffery was hit by multiple vehicles in a crosswalk of a downtown intersection. Police say before she was hit, Jeffery had fallen for unknown reasons while crossing the street.

University Hospital doctors pronounced Jeffery dead at 9:16 P.M. after being struck by two vehicles at the intersection of 2nd St. and Jefferson St. Friday night.
