It's Not Like We Didn't See That One Coming

7 Days ago, FTVLive told you how the rumors were running wild that longtime WHEC (Rochester) Anchor Rebecca Leclair was going to be leaving the station?

The GM even posted a public statement when the negotiations between the Anchor and the station turned sour.

Well guess what?

Rebecca Leclair has decided to "spend more time with her family."

The longtime Anchor says, that after 29 years, she's done.

"The last 29 years have been tremendously rewarding to me both professionally and personally," LeClair said in a statement posted on Channel 10's website. She said she had asked to be released from the remainder of her contract.

Leclair added, “I look forward to spending more time with my kids ... and more ‘date nights’ with my husband Paul.”

In an email, she wrote, “I am excited about serving in a variety of communications roles within the community and forging ahead with a new firm I’m creating, Leclair Communications, LLC.”

Derek Dalton, vice president and general manager of WHEC, praised Leclair in a statement as a “consummate professional” and someone whose “dedication to numerous non-profit organizations brought awareness to issues and problems ... smiles to children’s faces and donations to those charities.”

The Hubbard station has been shedding itself from hight priced talent and word is that the station lowballed Leclair on a new contract.

The station also put out these statements from both  Leclair and Dalton each hand signed.

Really?! When you see crap like this, you know it was not a good negotiation.
