Another LA Morning Anchor Gone

The morning news anchors in LA are dropping like flies....

Earlier this week, FTVLive FIRST told you that KTTV Anchor Steve Edwards had parted ways with the station, now KNBC's morning male Anchor is out. 

KNBC's Whit Johnson told viewers that he's leaving the station and taking some time off. 

After reading his post on his Instagram, it sounds like Johnson has another TV gig lined up, but he is not saying where or when.

BIG CHANGES are ahead for me and my family. After more than five years @NBCLA, I’ve made the difficult decision to move on and explore new career opportunities. This process was months in the making and involved many emotional and complicated conversations with my family and my incredible bosses at NBC4. Given the media landscape these days, I feel the need to be absolutely clear… this is NOT the result of any newsroom drama. This is just a good old fashioned LIFE, CAREER, GROWTH exploration. I truly believe NBC4 is one of the best newsrooms in the country. I will miss my colleagues deeply and I’ve made great friendships that will last a lifetime. I cannot thank NBC4 enough for the wonderful opportunities I’ve been given and for what I can honestly call the happiest years of my life, professionally and personally. Most importantly, I want to thank all of the viewers who’ve welcomed me into your homes. Many of you I’ve met in person at community events… some I’ve chatted with on a daily basis on social media. I feel a personal connection to all of you. We've had breakfast together “dark and early” every morning. I recognize you have ENDLESS choices on television. I am humbled and filled with gratitude that you would allow me to be part of your daily routine. So what’s next? I’m going to take some time off to spend with family…. then, I’ll be telling stories again on TV.
